Henry Unwin Addington letter to Dubois Martin, 1824.

Autograph letter, signed, from Henry Unwin Addington to Dubois Martin of Baltimore, dated Washington, May 17, 1824. Written in reply to Martin's letter inquiring whether an application made to the British government for past services rendered would likely be successful, and if so how it should be submitted. Addington comments on the probable failure of the application but refers Martin to Lord Palmerston, British Secretary at War, should Martin still wish to proceed with his petition.
